The Difference That Makes The Difference |

|
Opening a Child Development Center (CDC) is a rewarding opportunity. However, the agency MUST always keep in mind the following:
· MUST meet or exceed all federal, state, and licensing regulations. · MUST constantly monitor budgetary considerations including sustainability. · MUST continuously seek multiple funding sources. · MUST take into account logistical support including life cycle cost analysis. · MUST be aware of the ever changing demographic, economic and social changes in and around the service area. · MUST take into account the political climate towards childcare and child development. · MUST account for zoning considerations and the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) process. · MUST always keep in mind that there will inevitably be something that comes up that was never planned for. · MUST keep the children and families you are going to serve in mind at all times. Every decision made ask yourself—“How Does This Help Children and Families?”

Actual initial concept drawing for a childcare and development center in Southern California (completed 2008). The time and effort put into the planning phase identified areas that needed to change before construction began; thereby saving costly construction delays. |
